Der Knabenchor Hösel ist ein Chor, in dem Schüler der 4. bis 13. Jahrgangsstufe singen. Hauptaufgabe des Chores ist die Gestaltung der Kirchenmusik in der Adolf-Clarenbach-Kirche, Hösel und der Ratinger Hauptkirche St. Peter und Paul. Dabei singt der Chor Musik aller Zeitepochen. Künstlerischer Schwerpunkt ist die regelmäßige Aufführung der Werke von Johann Sebastian Bach und Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart im Kirchenjahr sowie die Pflege der Literatur für Chor und Orgel. Rundfunk- und CD-Produktionen, Chorkonzerte und Konzertreisen in Deutschland, Europa und Nordamerika dokumentieren zusätzlich das vielfältige Wirken des Chores. Auftritte in der Thomaskirche in Leipzig, im Petersdom in Rom, in Notre-Dame, Paris, in Österreich, Polen, in der Schweiz, in Spanien, in Tschechien und Ungarn, sowie in Chicago und Washington fanden überall große Resonanz und anerkennende Beachtung. Der Chor ist Preisträger zahlreicher nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerbe.

The Knabenchor Hösel is a choir comprising students from grade 4 to 13. Its foremost task is to perform during church services at the Adolf-Clarenbach-Kirche, Ratingen- Hösel. The choir sings music from all periods. Main artistic emphasis is placed on regular performance of works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart throughout the church year, as well as on presentation of choir and organ literature. Radio appearances, CD productions, choir concerts, and concert trips through Germany, Europe and North America bear witness to the diverse activities of the choir. The choir’s performances in the Thomaskirche (Leipzig), in St. Peter (Rome), Notre- Dame (Paris), in Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary, as well as in Chicago and Washington D.C. always receive a positive response and are greatly appreciated. The choir has won prizes at numerous national and international competitions.

Vita Toralf Hildebrandt

Toralf Hildebrandt wurde in Berlin geboren und war Sängerknabe in einem Berliner Knabenchor. Von 1982 - 1987 studierte er Kirchenmusik mit dem Schwerpunkt Chorleitung am Institut für Kirchenmusik in Greifswald. Studien im Fach Chorleitung führten ihn nach Leipzig, wo er als Schüler von Thomaskantor Prof. Georg Christoph Biller eine intensive dirigentische Ausbildung erhielt. Seit 1989 ist Toralf Hildebrandt Kantor des Knabenchor Hösel. Als Dirigent erhielt er nationale und internationale Preise und Auszeichnungen und gilt als Spezialist im Bereich der Knabenchorleitung. Darüber hinaus ist er ein gefragter Chorpädagoge und Juror bei internationalen Chorfestivals und Wettbewerben.

Toralf Hildebrandt was born in Berlin and was a choir boy in a Berlin boys’ choir. From 1982 to 1987, he studied church music, majoring in choir direction at the School for Church Music in Greifswald. Studies in his major took him to Leipzig where he received intensive training in choir conducting under the Thomascantor Prof. Georg Christoph Biller. Since 1989, Toralf Hildebrandt has directed the Knabenchor Hösel as its cantor. As choral conductor, he has won both national and international prizes and awards, and is considered a specialist in the field of boys’ choir conducting. Moreover, he is a sought-after choir pedagogue and jury member at international choral festivals and competitions.
